2023 Christmas Video
During the Christmas season, all of us at Seton Hill take time to reflect on the Fall 2023 semester and the ways in which the pillars of the university's mission - Welcoming, Learning, Celebrating, and Serving - are present in the daily life of our campus. Veterans Appreciation Program (November 18, 2023)
The Seton Hill University Alumni Association Veterans Affinity hosted a Veterans Appreciation Program in-person and virtually. The event featured a keynote address by Samantha Robbins '18 and Adam Rosenwald, who reflected on their involvement with Pittsburgh Warriors Hockey and the organization's 2023 Healing Ride, which paid tribute to fallen service members and raised awareness around issues of mental health for veterans.

Memorial Mass in Celebration of All Souls' Day in Saint Joseph Chapel (November 5, 2023)
The Seton Hill community honored those Alumni & Friends who are no longer with us with a special mass in Saint Joseph Chapel.

Elizabeth Ann Seton Birthday Mass in Saint Joseph Chapel (August 27, 2023)
The Seton Hill community honored Elizabeth Ann Seton's legacy and celebrated her 249th birthday with a special mass in Saint Joseph Chapel. Elizabeth Ann Seton's 249th birthday was August 28, 2023. 

"Healthy Lifestyle Choices" Nutrition & Dietetics Lunch & Learn by Aaliyah Lankey (June 14, 2023)
The Office of Alumni Relations hosted "Healthy Lifestyle Choices," a Nutrition & Dietetics Lunch & Learn presented by Aaliyah Lankey, current candidate for a Master of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics at Seton Hill University. She shared lessons about healthy lifestyle choices and how they are important to promote overall health and wellness. Recipes mentioned in the program can be found here. Lunch & Learns, a program of the Alumni College, are a one-hour program featuring subject matter experts offering a bite-sized presentation and Q/A on a variety of topics. 

Alumni Weekend Mass (June 4, 2023)

As part of Alumni Weekend, the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill reminisced about exciting tales of Seton Hill and alumni shared their stories too. 

“Spain: A Country of Contrasts” Chalk Talk by Dr. Judith Reyna, Associate Professor of Spanish & Italian at Seton Hill (June 2, 2023)
As part of Alumni Weekend, Dr. Judith Reyna, Associate Professor of Spanish & Italian at Seton Hill presented her Chalk Talk “Spain: A Country of Contrasts." Dr. Reyna shared highlights from her recent study abroad trip and the upcoming Alumni College Travel Program, "Food & Wine: A Taste of Spain" scheduled for July 7-18, 2024. Chalk Talks, a program of the Alumni College, are interactive lectures that offer alumni an exclusive opportunity to engage in dialogue, ask questions, and explore points of interest with Seton Hill faculty. 

Farrell Lecture Series (March 30, 2023)
Seton Hill University hosted the Farrell Lecture Series titled "What Lies Ahead: Your Work, Your Happiness and the Future" featuring contributor, strategist & Seton Hill alumna JoJo Pastors Ferman '99 and economist & investor Jon Hartley. The Farrell Lecture Series is sponsored by the Seton Hill University School of Business and presented in partnership with the Seton Hill University Alumni College.

"100 Years of Women's Basketball at Seton Hill" Lunch & Learn by Coach Mark Katarski, Archivist Casey Bowser & Centennial Committee Chair Marybeth Miller (March 14, 2023)
The Office of Alumni Relations hosted "100 Years of Women's Basketball at Seton Hill" a Lunch & Learn presented by Coach Mark Katarski, Archivist Casey Bowser & Centennial Committee Chair Marybeth Miller. Lunch & Learns, a program of the Alumni College, are a one-hour program featuring subject matter experts offering a bite-sized presentation and Q/A on a variety of topics. 

A Christmas Tour of Seton Hill
The annual Alumni & Friends Christmas on the Hill took place in-person as well as virtually. As part of the virtual celebration, the Office of Alumni Relations premiered a short film titled "A Christmas Tour of Seton Hill" that follows Darren Achtzehn, Director of Sustainability and Outreach, as he gives a brief tour of Seton Hill at Christmastime.

The Seton Hill School of Business presented "The College to Career Series," led by New York and California innovators, disruptors, thought leaders, and Seton Hill alumnae. The virtual lecture, "Making Sense of Current Markets and Future Careers," was presented by Alumna JoJo Pastors ‘99, analyst in private markets and alternative investments at UBS, with Jorge Salva, Krysia Lenzo, and Jon Hartley. This was also Co-Sponsored by the Marketing & Communications Club at Seton Hill University.

2 of 3: The College to Career Series presented by the Seton Hill School of Business (October 19, 2022)
The Seton Hill School of Business presented "The College to Career Series," led by New York and California innovators, disruptors, thought leaders, and Seton Hill alumnae. This was presented by the following: Seton Hill Alumna JoJo Pastors ‘99, analyst in private markets and alternative investments at UBS; Mark Demetropoulous, tax, finance and crytopcurrency attorney; and Liz Capants, international business consultant; and Kellie Lynch, performance manager at The Wall Street Journal. This was also Co-Sponsored by the Finance Club at Seton Hill University.

The Office of Alumni Relations hosted "Cybersecurity," a Lunch & Learn presented by Anthony Krance, Information Security Officer at Seton Hill University. The Seton Hill School of Business presented "The College to Career Series," led by New York and California innovators, disruptors, thought leaders, and Seton Hill alumnae. This was presented by Alumna Wei Zhang ‘94, a global senior executive in media, entertainment, technology, and digital sectors; president of Alibaba Pictures. This was also Co-Sponsored by the Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities at Seton Hill University.

"Excelling at Caring: Inspiration from Amazing Women for Overwhelming Times" Chalk Talk by David von Schlichten, D.Min., Ph.D., M.F.A. (September 14, 2022)
The Office of Alumni Relations presented "Excelling at Caring: Inspiration from Amazing Women for Overwhelming Times" Chalk Talk by David von Schlichten, D.Min., Ph.D., M.F.A. Dr. von Schlichten presented on what we can learn from extraordinary women, including Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, who was canonized as the first American-born saint on September 14, 1975 by Pope Paul VI. Chalk Talks, a program of the Alumni College, are interactive lectures that offer alumni an exclusive opportunity to engage in dialogue, ask questions, and explore points of interest with Seton Hill faculty.

Virtual Meet and Greet with Seton Hill University's Men's Basketball Head Coach, Ben Wilkins! (August 8, 2022)
A virtual meet and greet was held to introduce new Head Men's Basketball Coach, Ben Wilkins! The event included an introduction of players on the team, a discussion of the future of the program, and more.

Farrell Lecture Series (April 20, 2022)
Seton Hill University hosted the Farrell Lecture Series featuring Robert DeMichiei, Strategic Advisor, former Chief Financial Officer for UPMC, and Member, Seton Hill University Board of Trustees, who will present his talk titled "Leadership Lessons for the Next Generation." The Farrell Lecture Series is sponsored by the Seton Hill University School of Business and the Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities and presented in partnership with the Seton Hill University Alumni College.

Sr. Mary Schmidt Lecture Series (April 7, 2022)
The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill presented the virtual Sister Mary Schmidt Lecture at Seton Hill University. Sisters Alicia Costa and Sylvia Thibodeaux from the Sisters of the Holy Family will present “Faith, Race & Sisterhood: Exploring the Diversity Question with the Sisters of the Holy Family.” The Sister Mary Schmidt Lecture is presented in partnership with the Seton Hill University Alumni College.

"Veterans Benefits" Lunch & Learn by Distinguished Alumnus Matt Zamosky ’10
The Office of Alumni Relations hosted "Veterans Benefits" Lunch & Learn by Distinguished Alumnus Matt Zamosky ’10, Westmoreland County Director of Veterans Affairs. Matt provided an overview of the benefits available to veterans and family members, as well as best practices for finding resources. Lunch & Learns, a program of the Alumni College, are a one-hour program featuring subject matter experts offering a bite-sized presentation and Q/A on a variety of topics.

"A New Horizon for Business" Chalk Talk by Jen Jones, Ph.D.
The Office of Alumni Relations presented "A New Horizon for Business" Chalk Talk by Jen Jones, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Department Coordinator, Marketing and Communications, School of Business. Dr. Jones examined the principles of organizational ethics and Catholic Social Teaching to challenge employees, leaders, and everyday consumers to approach corporate ethics from beyond the traditional notion of business. Chalk Talks, a program of the Alumni College, are interactive lectures that offer alumni an exclusive opportunity to engage in dialogue, ask questions, and explore points of interest with Seton Hill faculty. 

Alumni & Friends Christmas on the Hill (December 11, 2021)
Alumni & friends of Seton Hill celebrated Christmas on the Hill, both in person and virtually. The evening included a video presentation featuring student performances, Seton Hill traditions, and a special musical number from alumna Darcy Wood, Class of 2008, and her partner Barry DeBois.

Virtual Veterans Appreciation Program (November 13, 2021)
The Seton Hill University Alumni Association Veterans Affinity hosted a Virtual Veterans Appreciation Program. The featured event included a virtual tour of the Civil War Sisters Exhibit presented by the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Historical Marker Dedication for the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill (August 28, 2021)
The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission commemorated the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill with an official state historical marker. 

Elizabeth Ann Seton Birthday Celebration: Opening Reflection (August 27, 2021)
The Office of Alumni Relations celebrated Elizabeth Ann Seton's 247th birth anniversary with a series of virtual events. Alumni Advisory Council member Barbara Ann Smelko, S.C. '72 began our virtual celebration of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton's birth anniversary with an opening prayer and spiritual meditation.

Lunch & Learn featuring Dr. Greg Bohall '04 (June 25, 2021) 
Seton Hill alumnus Dr. Greg Bohall '04 presented his talk titled "Foundations of Personal and Professional Development." Lunch & Learns, a program of the Alumni College, are a one-hour program featuring subject matter experts offering a bite-sized presentation and Q/A on a variety of topics.

2021 May Grad Bash (May 17, 2021)
President Mary C. Finger and the Seton Hill University Alumni Association hosted a virtual Grad Bash for the Class of 2021 and the August and December 2020 graduates.

Sister Mary Schmidt Lecture (April 15, 2021)
The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill presented the virtual Sister Mary Schmidt Lecture at Seton Hill University on April 15, 2021. Catherine O’Donnell, author of "Elizabeth Seton: American Saint," presented “We Cannot Quarantine Compassion."

The Fleischner Lecture Series (Virtual Series)
Dr. Eva Fleischner (1925-2020) was an accomplished and distinguished Holocaust scholar. For many years, Dr. Fleischner was deeply involved in the Seton Hill University National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education. She was a long-time member of the advisory board, and spoke often at conferences. In addition, Dr. Fleischner received the Center's highest honor, the Nostra Aetate award, for her outstanding contributions to improving Jewish-Catholic relations.

Through their generous contributions, Dr. Fleischner and her family have endowed the Fleischner Lecture Series, which enables the Center to bring scholars to the Seton Hill campus to discuss their research on the Holocaust, genocide and inter-religious understanding. Take the Day On (February 27, 2021)
The Seton Hill University Alumni Association Veterans Affinity partnered with Service Outreach to participate in a virtual project as part of Seton Hill's annual campus-wide day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Alumni and students gathered to make life-saving paracord bracelets for Operation Gratitude. The day began with an opening reflection that included a brief video discussing the National Commitment to Honor Martin Luther King, Jr. and serve the community, available here.

Alumni & Friends Christmas on the Hill Virtual Celebration (December 12, 2020)
Alumni and friends of Seton Hill came together virtually to celebrate the tradition of Alumni & Friends Christmas on the Hill. Our evening included a Zoom with Santa, Virtual Mass and a Virtual Wassail Reception hosted by the Alumni Advisory Council with performances and stories by Seton Hill alumni and friends. Virtual Veterans Appreciation Program (November 14, 2020)
The Seton Hill University Alumni Association Veterans Affinity hosted a Virtual Veterans Appreciation Program. Featured speakers included MiRan Cho Surh '84 and Charles Marwood, a Korean War Navy sailor veteran, on the topic of their recently published book, "Tour of Duty."

The Knights Collection (Virtual Series)
The Knights Collection contains more than two hundred photographs and dozens of letters. The process of preserving, cataloguing and organizing the material has been a joint effort by the Seton Hill University National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education, the Seton Hill archives, and faculty and students from the Schools of Visual and Performing Arts and Humanities. Learn more about this collection and view educational programs here

Crimson & Gold Days: Drink & Doodle (October 13, 2020)
In celebration of what would have been Homecoming & Family Days, Seton Hill University hosted for the first time ever, Crimson & Gold Days during the week of October 12, 2020. During the week-long festivities, Maureen Diggory, a Seton Hill student in the art therapy program, led us through the process of painting the Seton Hill Griffin. Elizabeth Ann Seton Birthday Celebration: Mission Moment (August 28, 2020)
The Office of Alumni Relations celebrated Elizabeth Ann Seton's 246th birthday with a series of virtual events. During our Mission Moment, Sr. Maureen O'Brien, Vice President for Mission and Identity, and members of the Mission and Identity team discussed the life and legacy of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and her lasting influence on the Sisters of Charity and Seton Hill.
